Process flows

Palletisation is the act of moving stock from a generic receipt container in M3 (for example 0 or blank) to unique preprinted/or fixed container related to the pallet the goods is stacked on.

Goods is often stacked/loaded first then scanned to make the movable unit in M3 and MA.

Palletisation can be done in 3 ways in Mobile Action depending on what type of item we are dealing with:

1. Non sublot controlled items with basic unit of measure EACH (each or carton or similar)

Use Stock Move and type in the quantity on the pallet then scan the pallet ID to confirm

2. Non sublot controlled items with basic unit of KG where each carton has a unique random weight.

Use Palletisation   and GS1 labels with the AI of 310x (weight)

3. Sublot controlled items with basic unit of measure of EACH (each or carton or similar) and catch weight

Use Sublot palletisation and GS1 labels with AI of 10, 21,310x to map up lot, sublot and weight

This section refers to the 3.  Sublot palletisation

Business rules:

  • Input can be sublot (raw) or GS1 barcode
  • We will not pass in the weight from labels in this function the assumption is that the weight is loaded correctly as stock was introduced to the system via purchase receipt or manufacturing receipt.
  • We check for duplicates
  • The to container must be found in the package mask validation
  • We allow more than one item and lot on a pallet
  • The sublot reference (BANT) to be unique -contain the lot number as well as the sublot. and that lot numbers should be unique. If not we will get ambiguous results when looking up data to process
  • We allow more than one item and lot on a pallet
  • We do not check for mixing of certain attributes on a pallet

Limitation:

  • To increase performance we must tell the application the from container we are palletising from, this container is defaulted to be 0 (assuming 0 is used in a MO receipt interface)
  • But can be overridden when we re-palletise from one existing container to another (to split pallet or to replace a unfit pallet label etc)

M3 settings

All standard settings for sublot's, GTIN 14 numbers etc

Recommendation

  • If the GS1 barcodes only contain AI 21 (serial no and not AI 10 lot batch) we recommend to use all 10 position in the MO number as the lot number and for example the last 4 as the unique carton number of the day. However, this is configurable in M3 and Mobile Action using Storage Requirement in MMS001/I and the corresponding setting in MA.
  • The sublot reference (BANT) to be unique -contain the lot number as well as the sublot. and that lot numbers should be unique. If not we will get ambiguous results when looking up data to process

MA settings

This teaches MA that the first 10 pos of the AI 21 for items with Storage requirement L4 is BANO and the first 19 pos is the Sublot number (any of the sections of the AI data can be used by the NNNNYYYYNNNN logic
User settings/My Tasks

The Put away location is used as the default To location in sublot palletisation

Initiated to container 0 by default, possible to override if we palletise from an existing container.
This is the default putaway location configurable for each user under user settings.
This is the to container -validated as a valid package mask to avoid scanning errors
Enter the sublot id or scan the GS1 label
Once scanned +  [enter] the units & weight will accumulate and the barcode be highlighted to be scanned over with the next barcode.

if by accident we scan a barcode already scanned:

during this scanning there is no looking back to M3 to find data so it is very fast.

Once all units been scanned and the tally checked

Wipe out the last highlighted barcode to be able to submit:

Wipe out the last highlighted barcode to be able to submit:

[enter] here will move all these sublots to the one pallet and the new location in one go
