Process flows
Tank cleaning refers to the process of stocktaking the items that are set up as bulk items using the lot blending functionality in M3. Please refer to Infor documentation for details on this (Search Lot Blending).
This functionality makes use of the stocktake API that sets the stock on hand to 0 as part of ex a weekly actual physical clean to allow for new lots to be moved in and blended. How they are blended depends on the item characteristics and the location characteristics.
Note: This process ties in with the stock move where the current stock move also supports lot blending where we can move ex liquid from storage to tanks and blend in the lots seamlessly using StockMove. Note container move is not supported in M3 for these type of items
